Secondary education: senior general (havo)
Senior general secondary education (havo) is intended for pupils aged 12-17 years and has a five-year programme.  Havo is the preparatory stream for higher vocational education (hbo). Pupils with a havo diploma may also transfer to year 5 of pre-university secondary education (vwo).
